If you’ve spent any time on social media lately, then I’m sure you’ve seen and heard about Merit. The cream makeup that everyone is raving about, and for good reason too.

I first heard about Merit from Instagram. A few influencers I follow shared their love for it, but Jennifer Todryk (AKA The Rambling Redhead) she was the one who influenced me to try it.

I actually love the fact that it’s cream. I feel like cream makeup can sometimes be intimidating, I know it was when I first used it, but it’s quickly become a favorite of mine, and I think it looks beautiful on the skin.

I bought it as a Christmas gift to myself in 2022. Judge me if you must, but I can’t be the only one that does it. Don’t all of us moms buy ourselves at least one Christmas present? Anyway, I’ve been using it for almost two years now and thought I’d share my thoughts with you all.

Why I love it

Let’s start with why I’m loving this makeup brand….

It’s a clean makeup brand, such a big WIN in my book, it’s vegan, cruelty free, and free from fragrances, which can be harmful to your hormones. As someone who tries to limit toxins and use more natural ingredients. I really appreciate this about the brand.

It gives you this incredible, natural looking glow. It doesn’t look oily, like you’ve just been sweating, or shimmery, I’m not a fan of shimmer, unless it’s a special occasion, just a pretty glow that I absolutely love!

As a busy mom, I don’t have a ton of time to get ready every day. I’m lucky to get 5 minutes before my kids come find me and need something. Enter Merit. This makeup really is so simple to use. I can slap it on real quick and actually look like a human in under 10 minutes. Another major win for me!

Now for the price, in my opinion, it’s not too outrageous, I mean, compared to drugstore brands, it’s definitely a little more costly. But for me, it’s doable and worth it. You know the saying you get what you pay for, well, it’s true. You’re paying for clean makeup that is very natural looking and will simplify your routine. You’re not gonna be paying 9 or 12 dollars for blush, but you also aren’t paying almost 50 dollars for blush either.

The Products

The Minimalist Stick

This can be used on top of foundation as concealer, alone as foundation or just in areas that need a little coverage for a very natural look. I love how lightweight it is. It gives medium coverage, and it feels like there is nothing on my skin. They have 30 different shades to choose from.

Bronze Balm

This is their cream bronzer, I’ve only used shade Clay, but it is beautiful! Before using Merit, I was terrible at contouring my face. Well, to be honest, I’m still not a pro at it, but with this, it’s so incredibly easy and foolproof. It will last you a good while as well.

Flush Balm

BLUSH!!! I just love this so much, I have tried shades Cheeky and Beverly Hills, both beautiful, and I’m dying to get my hands on Stockholm.  This applies and blends like a dream. It’s so smooth and creamy. It can be used on your lips as well as cheeks. It’s truly the best.

Day Glow

Highlighter, the finishing touch. I use shade Bounce, I find it’s not glittery, not a fan of glitter or shimmery highlighters. I just want a pretty natural glow that isn’t going to shine too much, and this stuff definitely does the trick. It’s not over the top for everyday wear.

Brow 1980

Their volumizing brow pomade is so easy to use. When it comes to my brows, I’m very low maintenance. I will use tweezers on them here and there, but I’m terrified of screwing them up. So I really appreciate how I can swipe this on my brows, and they look amazing.

Shade Slick (Tinted Lip Oil)

I have shade Pink Beet, it’s sort of a cool pink. I would love to get some of their other shades. It feels really nice on your lips, not sticky at all, just really smooth, I can’t wait to try more.

Don’t forget to get their Brush No.1, I use it to apply my foundation stick and bronzer. For blush and highlight, I usually just use my fingers to tap and blend.

Products I have not tried yet are their eyeshadow, mascara, or their glow serum, BUT I am sure they are all just as incredible as everything else.

Have I Convinced You Yet?

I’m seriously so blown away by Merit. It’s clean, it’s quick to apply, and it’s beautiful, from the packaging to the way it applies on your skin, it truly is chefs’ kiss.

Dont just take my word for it. I’ve linked the products that I use and love, just in case I’ve convinced you to give it a try for yourself. I hope you love it as much as I do.

Let me know if you try anything or if you already use Merit, I’d love to know your thoughts.
